Our Story
How We Met
Sasha and Hunter met in Fall 2015. They found each other in an uncharted and treacherous place - a dating app.
They made their first date, and when the day came, so did a blizzard. With no car and no patience, Hunter enlisted help from his friends Jacob and Suzie to get him from Grand Forks to Fargo in one piece.
Sasha and Hunter kept up a long-distance relationship for 3 years - driving 6 hours to see each other in the summertime - until they finally moved in together in Summer 2018.
By Fall 2018, they earned their degrees, moved to Minneapolis, found jobs, and quickly adopted two cats.
In Summer 2023, after a move, a few job changes, and a global pandemic, they bought their first house together in St. Anthony - and adopted their first puppy.
The Proposal
The couple were engaged in October 2025. Hunter tucked away the ring, proclaimed a surprise date night of vintage clothes shopping, then “spontaneously” suggested they visit the nearby nature trails at St. Anthony Main.
On a bridge nestled between the river and a waterfall, Hunter asked Sasha if she would marry him and be his partner for life. She said yes.
